Three Poems - Untitled/Spanish Elegy by Robert Motherwell
This work which includes two lithographs, the first Untitled and the second titled Spanish Elegy (located on either side of one folio page). These works continue Motherwell's exploration of black on white in Three Poems utilizing a variety of image techniques to produce a diverse aesthetic. Both works are the third and fourth of twelve lithographs connected to the poem titled "Return, for Jose Alvarado." An impressive piece in pristine condition for discerning collectors.
Technical Details: Printed in 1988 by Trestle Editions Limited, New York. Paper size 21.5 x 18 inches; Chine applique of Japanese to Cartiere Enrico Magnani paper. Edition number 89 of 750. Taken directly from deluxe bound book of prints as a single page folio without frame or manipulation. Comes with complete provenance including copy of colophon signed by Robert Motherwell and Octavio Paz.
