Three Poems - Nocturne 8 by Robert Motherwell
Nocturne 8 demonstrates Motherwell's use of large swaths of black for dramatic and emotional effect which became a dominant theme in his fine art lithography. It is the final lithograph of eight connected to the poem titled "San Ildefonso Nocturne" known as the Nocturne Series a spectacular series of works demonstrating Motherwell's unique exploration of graphic media.
The lithograph is part of an 8 page folio in 2 sheets with text of the poem printed in Spanish (red) and English (black) as illustrated. An impressive piece in pristine condition for discerning collectors.

Comes with complete provenance including copy of colophon signed by Robert Motherwell and Octavio Paz.
