The Massive Dahlia's by Guy Bardone
Born in 1927, Bardone quickly mastered printmaking and developed his own unique style that is best demonstrated in his revered landscape and still life color lithographs. This clever and complex seven color lithograph commissioned by the International Graphic Arts Society, New York and printed at the famous Mourlot, Paris shows Bardone's ability to use color and shade to enable contour and perspective, guiding the viewers eye around the massive Dahlia's of the mid-ground, dwarfing the exiting gardener in the distance.
