Robert Motherwell was the youngest of what will be known as the "First Generation" of Abstract Expressionists. He quickly emerged as an innovative printmaker and frequently turned to literature, especially poetry for inspiration. As both an artist and an academic, Motherwell frequently asserted a cerebral element of interpretation and understanding into his work, especially his lithography. Creating some of the most important printed works in modern art. His talent was quickly recognized by the major Print Galleries of his time, including American Associated Artists who exhibited a tribute to his prints in February - March 1992.
This rare vintage color print documents the historic print exhibition, an aesthetically unique record of this important event.
