Song by Matsumi Kanemitsu
Kanemitsu is one of the early New York avant garde to have a serious love of lithography. He not only mingled with the Abstract Expressionists as part of the Art Students League in New York but he was one of the first to study lithography at the prestigious Tamarind Institute in the 1950's and 1960's. His lithograph for the poem Song is a brilliant example of the emotional power of lithography that he had perfected over a life time of printmaking.
