Snow in Saint Claude by Guy Bardone
Born in 1927, Bardone quickly mastered printmaking and developed his own unique style that is best demonstrated in his revered landscape and still life color lithographs. This lithograph has added significance because Saint Claude was the place of his birth and exemplifies his expertise portraying the extremely difficult subject of snow in landscape lithography. As the first of a limited edition of only 10 on Japan paper signed in pencil within its original 1963 frame including signed provenance on verso by both Bardone and Desjobert printers (see images), this is an extremely rare find.
Technical Details: Printed 1963, Desjobert, Paris on Japan Nacre paper. Image size 19 x 13 inches. Edition number 1 of 10, signed in pencil.
