Sleeping on the Wing by Barnett Newman
Barnett Newman is most well know for his massive Color Field painting with swaths of uniform color divided by vertical stripes. In the O'Hara portfolio we see his application of the Color Field technique to lithography using black and white with vertical white stripe.
Technical details: Sheet Number 14 of "In Memory Of My Feelings: A Selection of Poems by Frank O'Hara" published by the Museum of Modern Art in 1967. Single signed in the plate lithograph printed as loose 18 x 12 inch folded folio sheet on Mohawk Superfine Smooth paper. Number 142 of edition number of 2500. Comes with complete provenance including copy of colophon.
