Born in Germany in 1912, Friedlander survived the Nazi concentration camps to continue as an artist living and working in Paris after the War. He quickly earned a reputation as a premier fine art printmaker (his favorite medium was aquatint etching) and taught some of the finest printmakers in Europe. This color lithograph printed at the Mourlot in Paris as the frontispiece of an rare art catologue demonstrates Freidlander's signature aesthetic with collage-like printed elements.
Technical Details. Color lithograph on Arches paper. Printed 1973, Mourlot, Paris. Image size 13.5 x 8 inches, unsigned.
