Antibe by Camille Hilaire
Camille Hilaire born in 1916 was an accomplished painter, lithographer and weaver. A precocious artist with an extensive early art training, Hilaire drew upon numerous sources for inspiration. Ultimately he returned to his love of color which is clearly demonstrated in this lithograph titled Antibe. The south of France including the ancient city of Antibe was an important place of residence and work for many French artists, including Francoise Gilot and her partner of 10 years Pablo Picasso.
