A Step Away from Them 1/2 by Robert Rauschenburg
Rauschenburg along with Jasper Johns stand out as the most well known of the Post-Impressionists. With a keen interest in printmaking, Rauschenburg would make it his own medium with innovations not seen since the experimentation of Pablo Picasso with lithography in the mid 1940's. This lithograph covering the entire span of the sheet shows his collage type elements using a combination of figure and text to good effect. An important addition for serious collectors of his work.
