George Braque started with Matisse and the Fauves, then made major breakthroughs with Picasso inventing Analytic and Synthetic Cubism becoming one of the pioneers of modern art in the early 20th century. He is far less known, however, for his love of lithography and the excellent fine art lithographs he created with Mourlot during WW2, followed by a string of magnificent poster lithographs after the War, primarily for the Maeght Gallery in Paris and other exhibitions of his graphic works and books spanning the next two decades prior to his death.
